My client was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. I pointed out to the DA that they had no evidence connecting my client to the drugs or to the paraphernalia, the case was old and could have been challenged for failure to prosecute in a timely manner, and my client had no criminal history related to drug use. The DA agreed to dismiss the case. The dismissal protected my client from potential immigration consequences.
